Payments can be made during regular office hours.
Monday thru Friday: (Township Hours) 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Online payment is available. The flat fee for e-check is $3. We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, and credit cards. (There is a 3% fee of total charge or a minimum $2.00 charge per transaction, whichever is greater.)  We also have a 24-hour drop box next to the double front doors at the township hall.

Instructions to make an online payment for your water bill:

Go to https://sumptertwp.org/

Scroll down on the main page until you see MAKE AN ONLINE PAYMENT Click on it

1. On the far left of the BS&A Online website, is a section “Online Payments”. Click on the down arrow that is to the far left of that title. This will cause the dropdown menu to allow you to choose “Current Tax Payments” or “Utility Billing Payments”. Choose Utility Billy Payments.

2. The page that comes up next is a search page. There are four ways to search (Location ID, Name, Address, or Parcel Number). If you choose “Address”, you just type in your house number and street name, then click the “Search” button located to the right of the box that you just typed in.

3. All past and present owners of the property will be listed. The most current owner will be the first on the list. If this is the bill that you are paying, click anywhere on the line listing the current owner.

4. The next screen will be the current bill. You can pay all or part of the bill. If you want to make a partial payment, put the amount you are paying in the “Amount Paying:” box. Now click the “Make Payment” box.

5. The next page is the “Payments” page. “ExternalID” is your driver’s license number, or any other State issued picture ID number.

6. Then fill out the “Cardholder Information” section.

7. Next, you must select if you want to pay with a Credit or Debit Card, or by Electronic Check. If you pay with a card, fill in the card information and click the “Continue” button located on the lower right of the page.

8. If you want to pay with a check, click the down arrow next to “Credit or Debit Card”, and then fill out the routing and account number boxes and then click the “Continue” button located on the lower right of the page.

9. Follow the directions on the next screen.

Please note: There is a 3% fee to use a Credit or Debit card and a flat $3.00 fee to pay with an electronic check.

This site will only allow up to a $500 payment per transaction. You can initiate another transaction if you need to pay more than $500.

Dog License:

Michigan law requires that all dogs over the age of 4 months be licensed.  Sumpter Township allows three dogs per address.  Kennel license can be applied for at the Sumpter Township Police Department with the Ordinance Officer.

You will need to provide the township with  a valid proof of rabies from you veterinarian to purchase a dog license.

Dog licenses can be purchased at the beginning of January.  The cost is $5.00 for a male or a spayed female and $7.00 for an unspayed female.  The amount are for January to March 31st.  On April 1st the fees double.
