Wayne County Household Hazardous Waste Collection:

Wayne County's Department of Public Services hosts four Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection events each year for Wayne County residents. These events are designed to safely collect and dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste.

✅ Important Notes:

  • Only household-generated hazardous waste will be accepted.

  • Commercial or industrial waste will NOT be accepted.

  • Proof of Wayne County residency is required.

Wayne County will continue offering HHW collection events in 2025. The scheduled dates and locations are listed below:

Missed an Event?

If you were unable to attend one of the scheduled HHW events, Wayne County offers a voucher program on a first-come, first-served basis (limit one per household).

♻️Sumpter Township Recycling Center Information:

 

📍 Location:
23480 Sumpter Rd.
Belleville, MI 48111
(Use the dirt private drive next to the parking lot, leading into the wooded area near the Township Hall.)

 

📅 Hours of Operation:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Closed Sundays

 

⚠️ Please Note:

  • The Recycling Center is closed on or near holidays.

  • Closure notices will be posted in advance.

🔒 The facility is monitored 24/7 by video surveillance.

🚫 Use is limited to Sumpter Township residents only.
